Spencer Doty, MBA, CPO is a Board-Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist with more than 20 years of experience in clinical care, program development, and clinical leadership within orthotics, prosthetics, and complex durable medical equipment services. He is a former full-time treating clinician who has personally evaluated, treated, and managed care for thousands of pediatric and adult patients with orthotic and prosthetic needs, including individuals with lifelong and catastrophic conditions.

 

Mr. Doty has extensive experience in accepted standards of care, clinical decision-making, medical necessity, component selection, and long-term treatment planning. Throughout his career, he has developed prosthetic and orthotic recommendations, replacement schedules, and future care projections, frequently collaborating with Life Care Planners on the orthotic and prosthetic elements of comprehensive Life Care Plans.

 

In addition to his clinical background, Mr. Doty has served in clinical director and executive leadership roles overseeing multi-state orthotic and prosthetic practices. His experience includes regulatory compliance, documentation standards, reimbursement policy, provider supervision, and quality assurance, providing a broad operational and clinical context for expert review and testimony.

 

Mr. Doty serves as an orthotics and prosthetics expert witness in matters involving standard of care, scope of practice, causation, damages, medical necessity, billing and coding compliance, and future care needs.
